Mode: Create / edit archive

This mode can be used to create and edit of archive or collection of photos.

This mode is useful in the following cases.

1. If you have a large number of photos to add to the photo archive, which should contain the same metadata. (Subject, keywords, etc.)

2. If you want to create a small copy of photos from the archive.

3. Settings for this mode are also used in a continuous scan folders and working with the clipboard.

This mode allows you to copy photos into mirror archive, organize folder tree, create private photos, edit metadata, and more.

Principle of operation mode is the next. First you select a directory with pictures. This can be any folder, including a photo archive. Next, assign a folder to save the images and set the necessary filters. Then you fill out the metadata fields. You can delete individual tags or overwrite existing or add new ones. Then you make other settings.

Execution mode depends on the setting of Step by Step option. If this option is not set, the program will automatically process all the selected photos and save them to a specified folder. If the option is activated, for each photo will be offered a set of editing windows. The program will work as a conveyor. You can opt out from each of the proposed windows by pressing Auto button. In this case, this window will not appear in the current session. However, all the settings will be performed. The first is called the adjust picture window.

Mode: Create / edit archive

Window allows you to adjust the color, contrast, etc. each image individually. Cropping area depends on the aspect ratio on the main window. If set to keep the aspect ratio, the cropping area will with the same aspect ratio. In automatic mode, the window does not change the picture. The image on this screen is displayed without rotation specified in the metadata. When you close the window it is assumed that the image is rotated to a position comfortable for viewing. Therefore zero value of rotation is stored in metadata.

The next control window allows you to change the name of the output file, and define the crop area of picture in semi automatic mode. Appearance of the window is shown in the figure below.

Mode: Create / edit archive

On this window, you can adjust the boundary of transformation in nonlinear image compression. This window also allows you to change the order of image processing. There are several possibilities to do this. You can skip file or back to the previous one or use the mode of a manual selecting of files.

Mode: Create / edit archive

You can select a thumbnail image. Or you can use the representation of images in a tree-view.

Mode: Create / edit archive

Window allows preview mode. The figure below shows a preview image with a nonlinear transformation from 4:3 to 1:1.

Mode: Create / edit archive

If you click Auto, then the program will run fully in automatic mode.

On the next control screen, you can set the values of EXIF tags. The default values can be overwritten for each photo separately. These values can be stored, for do this it is necessary to press the Set def. button. You can set the existing tag values. Click ... button and a list of values for the appropriate tag from the photos in the destination folder will be opened.

Mode: Create / edit archive

Top row of buttons allows you to apply an action to all image tags. Action buttons as follows:

Save all - Saves all the original image tags. Values of the fields on this window are ignored.

Save all and replace - Saves all the original image tags. Tags values of this screen depend on the settings for each of them individually (three buttons on the left).

Delete all - Will remove all image tags, not just those that are shown on this window. That is photo will not contain EXIF tags at all.

Set only next - Will remove all tags except where noted on this window.

If the button Save original text is active, the edit field contains the tag value, which image already contains. If the tag does not contain any data, the field is empty. If Replace original text is marked, the field contains the data that you have entered previously. In this case, you can enter new data. If checked Delete original text, the image will not contain this tag.

The next window is like the previous and contains the new group of tags.

Mode: Create / edit archive

The main ones are the dates. Activate Replace original text and you will get access to the buttons Set Date. However, changing the date would not change the destination folder, because the path has already been formed. Use Create archive (batch mode). It allows you to change the date before setting of the destination folder.

Here can be created audio commentary. The audio commentary is a sound file with the extension .WAV. You can create a file, to listen it, or open an existing file. Path to the file will be recorded in the corresponding EXIF tag. The file itself will only be copied to the destination folder, and will not be moved or deleted.

The following window is used to enter geo-coordinates of the image.

Mode: Create / edit archive

Geo coordinates can be entered in digital form or via GOOGLE maps. Many cameras can store the coordinates of the image. Set Save original data for their retain. WiseArcivist can decode the geo-coordinates from the .RAW files too.

If you set option Create pictures of several sizes, WiseArchivist will create several images of different sizes with identical EXIF tags. They will all be placed in one folder.
